Tale of a tortured tummy

I went to the doctor for my yearly physical and because of high blood pressure, she suggested that I lose 10 lbs. Not a huge deal (who wouldn't want to lose 10 lbs anyway - now I have a medical reason to!) I should also mention that up until now, I've had a pretty iron stomach. I used to eat chips and queso with a pint of Ben & Jerry's for dinner nearly every day of the week. Not so much anymore...HELLO late 20's.

I was doing a really good job (if I do say so myself) working out and eating less in general, especially sugar. (Ask any of my co-workers and they'll tell you my main food group is sugar. We even joke that when I'm out at a cafe I ask them to leave room for sugar instead of cream).

Well all my discipline went out the window one day...it was a coworkers birthday, so there was chocolate cake. AND our artistic director brought in leftover cake that his wife made. Double cake. Rushed home from work and scarfed down some (very al dente) spaghetti and headed to a meeting where there were snacks. After the meeting ended around 9pm, I got home and my boyfriend had made bacon wrapped lil smokies for me...how could I say no to that?!

I felt fine when I went to bed, but my really angry stomach woke me up at 5. I waited it out for about 30 minutes thinking (hoping) the gross feeling I had would go away. It didn't. I went to my essential oils and grabbed DiGize - an oil I'd never needed to use before. I diluted it with sweet almond oil and applied it in a clockwise fashion around my bellybutton. After that, I applied diluted peppermint the same way. I'll tell you, 15 minutes later I could lay back down and doze back to sleep!

I would highly recommend this DiGize / Peppermint combo to anyone who has digestive issues from eating too much or from eating foods your system isn't used to.

PS: DiGize isn't my favorite smelling oil, so it's nice to have a peppermint chaser to make a much more pleasing aroma.
