Carrier oils

If you are new to oils you've probably read something about carrier oils and may not be sure what they are. Carrier oils are used to dilute some essential oil for a couple reasons:

1. Carrier oils help the essential oil absorb better into the skin and get to where they need to go faster and more effectively.
2. A very small amount of essential oils is enough for each use, carrier oils help applying the essential oils much more effectively. This also makes your essential oils last much longer too. You can pre-dilute your oils with a carrier oil and store in a glass roller bottle for fast and easy application. I do this with multiple oils - En-r-gee, for example. I use that roller at work when I'm dragging in the afternoon and I don't have to worry about getting oil all over the place!

There are quite a few options when it comes to carrier oils:

I use Coconut Oil when making creams and body butters. It's solid at room temperature but melts nicely once its applied to the skin. When I make rollers, I choose different carriers depending on how and where on the body I'm going to use the roller. These include Fractured Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, and Avocado Oil.
